GEURKOVA (SAHAKYAN) MAGHVALA
Translator, 1997 member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia
Born December 5th, 1942, Tbilisi, Georgia.
Graduate of the Tbilisi State University Department of Philology. Completed
her PhD at the State Academy of Sciences. In 1968 she settled in Yerevan
and did translation works from and into Georgian. She has translated classic
and modern Georgian works. She is an honorary member of the Georgian Armenian
Union of Writers. She is also the director of the Georgian Embassy’s
“Iveria” paper. At the same time, she is the official translator
of Georgian legal documentation. She lectures Georgian language in various
institutes of higher education in Armenia.
