Writer, translator, cinema critic, WUA member since 1982


Born in 1940, January 5, Caraglukh village, Tsalka District, Georgia.
A graduate of Yerevan State University, the department of Philology, Section of Journalistics. Runniang responsible posts he worked at literary and cinema press, in WUA, at Armenia TV and Radio State Department and at Armenian Cultural Fund. He is the vice-president of Tekeyan Cultural Union since 1996.
S. Galstyan's prose was published in state literary press. But, in fact, he devoted himself to Cinema. He presented several reports on Cinema in Yerevan and other parts of Armenia. Some of them: 'The Sixties, Italian Cinema, Neo-Realism', 'Armenian Feature Film of Sixties and the Press', 'Contemporary's Character in Armenian Documentary Films' etc. He is the author of numerous articles, TV programs. Ten of the twelve of his books are devoted to feature, documentary and animation films.
