DEMIRCHYAN PETROS
Literary critic, translator, a Candidate of Philology,
WUA member since 1984
Born in 1950, May 30, in Yerevan.
A graduate of Yerevan State University, the department of Philology. He
worked at WUA 'Grakan Tert' and was the head of Media and Propaganda Department
of RA Defence Ministry. Since 2000 he works at RA Govermnent department
of Information and Public Relations as a leading specialist. P. Demirchyan
is an author of numerous critique articles which were published in Armenian
and foreign press. He played his active part in creating an Armenian cultural
center in Estonia and in publishing the center's 'Vahagn' newspaper. In
1990 he colletced (with the help of Babken Simonyan, translator from Serbian)
and published in Belgrad a special edition dedicated to Armenian literature
(18 pages). He was running 'Grakan Andastan' and 'Debate Club' literary-cultural
programs on TV and Radio. He translates as well.

AWARDS
In 2004 his 'Intra's Life' monograph was awarded a Prize after Nikol
Aghbalyan.
