BAKUR (Boris Karapetyan)
Novelist, Journalist, 1986 Member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia
Born June 9th, 1941, Nagorni Gharabagh, Mardakert region, Margushavan
village (Now occupied by the Azeri army).
Graduate of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute. From 1967 Bakour’s
articles, journalistic material and short stories have been printed in
the state press. His reviews are dedicated to the social-economical and
cultural issues of the state. He has created a number of documentary film
shots dedicated to the hottest struggles in the Artsakh fight for existence,
which have helped to internationalize the Artsakh issue. He was the manager
of the Artsakh section of the “Freedom-fighter” paper, where
he published many military factual and analytical reports. He is the manager
of the Yerevan Management University department of journalism and a lecturer
in the Yerevan State University department of journalism. The Home of
Painters’ has exhibited his graphic art and the Armenian National
Art Museum has exhibitions of his photographic collections “Fortified
Shushi and the Spirit of the Middle Ages in a Boulder”, “Know
the Borders of Your Country”. He is the manager and co-president
of the “Shushi” Charitable Fund.
He is a member of the Armenian Unions of Journalists and of Painters.
