Translator, Candidate of Philology, WUA member since 2003


Born in 1948, July 8, in Zoveber village, Gegharkunik Marz.
A graduate of Yerevan State University, the department of Philology. His poems, literary notes and translatins from German were periodically published in state literary press. Simultaneosly he published articles dedicated to Armenian-German cultural relations.
A. Arakelyan has translated the works of classical and contemporary writers (W. Goethe, H Heine, F. Schiller, D. Lessing, T. Mann). It is ready to published the German epos ‘The Nibalung Song’ and the ‘Mass and Power’ of Elias Canetti (2nd volume).
