Literary critic, Doctor of Philology, Professor,
WUA member since 1974


Born in 1934, July 22, in Idjevan town, Tavush Marz.
A graduate of Yerevan State University(with excellence certificate), the department of Philology. Attended post-graduate courses of Yerevan State University in 1961-64 and started lecturing at the same University in 1965. He was the head of the University publishing house during 1977-85. By his initiative was founded the book series of 'Student's Library'(Armenian and worldwide classical literature), 'Armenian Research Series', and 'Reading-Book'. He was the dean of the Philology department of the University in 1985-96. He runs the Journalistics department of the same University since 2000. Simultaneously with lecturing he is engaged in science and publicity spheres.
