AMRIKYAN ARMAN (ARMENAK MANUKYAN)
Journalist, writer, historian, Doctor of History, WUA member since
2002
Born in 1950, April 28, in Yerevan.
A graduate of Yerevan State University, the department of History. In
1972-2003 served at the Agency of National Security. He is a Colonel,
an Honoured collaborator of National Security Service. Lectures at Yerevan
State University, at RA State Academy of Management, at the Yerevan branch
of Moscow New Low School. JU member. A member of Naval Infantrymen Union.
A Doctor of Historical Science. A. Amrikyan’s stories and novels
have documentary background. They are translated into Russian, Kurdish
and were published in the former Soviet republics and Armenian Diaspora.
His novel ‘Remamber the Retribution Hour’ was played on radio.
He is the author of more than thirty TV films and TV programs, of scientific
articles, monographs and numerous publications.

AWARDS
1. In a literary competition held to signify the formation of Formier
Troops in 2003, the writer was awarded the First prize for his story 'Lernik
leaves for Mountines'.
2. In 2002 he was honoured with a golden medal of International Fund after
Fridtjof Nansen,
3. In 2000 he was awarded the JU Prize 'Golden Pen'.
